Metcalfe Answers Stack’s Libelous Refusal to Participate In
Informational Meeting Regarding Extravagant Food Purchases

HARRISBURG â€" House State Government Committee Majority Chairman Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) sent the following letter in response to Lt. Gov. Mike Stack’s refusal to participate in Wednesday’s informational meeting focusing on excessive food purchases at the lieutenant governor’s mansion:

“Dear Lieutenant Governor Stack,

“Your response to my invitation to speak to members of the House State Government Committee at an informational meeting regarding reports of your extravagant spending on food, at your tax-payer-provided residence, is malicious, dishonest and void of integrity.

“First, let me be crystal clear; I am a Christian and a veteran who has served honorably with men and women of all races, ethnicities and religions. I believe ‘all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.’ I hold that racism, perpetrated by anyone, is sinful and evil.

“Your accusation that I made, ‘statements in support of white supremacists,’ is a lie and would be libelous if I were a private citizen. Youâ€"along with your fellow liberalsâ€"have lifted, twisted, altered and used my words out of context to develop your hateful, slanderous and libelous attack on my character.

“In your false allegations, you reference ‘a renewed media scrutiny.’ The ‘renewed media scrutiny’ is fake news regarding a two-year-old phony news narrative, which resulted from false allegations and disparaging remarks that were made by now CONVICT, former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. Leslie Acosta.

“It should also be noted that the ‘renewed scrutiny’ seems to have been instigated by Facebook posts from another one of your Philadelphia Democrat legislators who is under investigation by the state Ethics Commission.

“Last Tuesday, the Pennsylvania Democrat Party called for my resignation based on this fake news narrative, because they claimed I did not ‘disavow White-Supremacist-Led Violence in Charlottesville.’ They were wrong. Last Monday, in an interview on Pittsburgh KDKA Radio with Mike Pintek, I publicly expressed my condemnation of racism and the violence perpetrated by evil people in Charlottesville.

“Over the last week, you leftists have exploited the violence that occurred in Charlottesville. You have done this to advance your own agenda, the exact same way you try to exploit violence perpetrated by criminals with firearms, to advance your campaign to disarm law-abiding citizens in America. Now, you are shamelessly attempting to use those hate-filled attacks to cover your own actions.

“In your reply, you use the words ‘diversity,’ ‘acceptance’ and ‘fair’ to create an illusion that you care for people. The Democrat governor called for an investigation by the inspector general because of reports that YOU mistreated State Police detail and staff who were hired by TAXPAYERS to care for you!

“Former Philadelphia Democrat Congressman Fattah, former Philadelphia Democrat District Attorney Williams, former Philadelphia Democrat State Sen. Fumo, former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. Waters, former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. Miranda, former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. Brownlee, former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. Bishop, former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. James, former Philadelphia Democrat State Sen. Washington, and former Philadelphia Democrat State Rep. Acosta, now are all CONVICTS. Therefore, no one should be surprised that Philadelphia Democrat Lt. Gov. Stack would also lie and have no integrity.

“Your attack on me with libelous lies, in response to a professional invitation, to explain reported concerns about your expenditures of tax dollars, confirms a LACK of integrity in your character and validates the need for further scrutiny of your use of taxpayer resources.”
