PA Chamber promotes Sam Denisco to vice president

HARRISBURG, PA – The Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry today announced the promotion of PA Chamber Government Affairs Director Sam Denisco to vice president of Government Affairs.

In his new role, Denisco will oversee the PA Chamber’s Government Affairs team, as well as external communications.

"Sam has played a valuable role in the Pennsylvania Chamber’s advocacy efforts since joining the organization," PA Chamber President Gene Barr said. "His legislative experience, issue expertise and knowledge of state government in general make him an obvious choice for a greater leadership role."

Denisco joined the PA Chamber in April 2008, serving as the organization’s lobbyist for health-care, tort, labor, insurance and taxation issues. Prior to that, he served as director of the Office of Legislative Affairs for the state Department of Revenue and as director of the Office of Legislative Affairs for the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Denisco is a member of the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council, the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Advisory Board and the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau.

He graduated from the University of Scranton with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate and Fellowship in Law and Government from Widener University School of Law.

Denisco’s promotion comes after Barr, former vice president of government affairs, took over the reins as PA Chamber president and CEO on Oct. 1.
