Dr. Arthur Books of American Enterprise Institute
to address 2014 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference

(Harrisburg, PA) – Dr. Arthur Brooks, President of the American Enterprise Institute, will address the 2014 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference on the importance of free markets and the value of entrepreneurship in our economy. He is author of the recent New York Times best-seller [i]The Road to Freedom: How to Win the Fight for Free Enterprise[ei]. Dr. Brooks’ speech will be followed by a panel presentation moderated by Tom Smith, the 2012 Republican Nominee for the U.S. Senate entitled [i]How Free Market Capitalism Raises All Boats[ei].

The 25th annual Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will be held April 4-5, 2014 at the Radisson Penn Harris Convention Center in Camp Hill (Harrisburg), PA. "This portion of the conference will address the failure of rapidly expanding government intrusion into the private sector and focus on why free markets have been and again could be the engine that drives the American economy," explained Lowman S. Joining Tom Smith on the [i]How Free Market Capitalism Raises All Boats[ei] panel will be Gwenne Alexander of ACTION for PA. State Senator Michael Folmer, Leo Knepper from the Citizens Alliance of Pennsylvania, State Representative David Reed and William Ruger from the Charles Koch Institute.

The premiere gathering of conservatives each year in the Keystone State, the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference this year will include featured dinner speaker Jonah Goldberg of [i]National Review[ei]/Fox News, luncheon speaker Michael Reagan, U.S. Senator Pat Toomey and Congressman Mike Kelly. Additional speakers will be announced over the coming weeks.

This year’s conference will also feature four interactive panel presentations including: Obamacare: No Magic Beans moderated by Anna McCauslin of Americans for Prosperity/PA; How Free Market Capitalism Raises All Boats with moderator Tom Smith, 2012 GOP U.S. Senate Nominee; Kumbaya: Working Together with moderator Kevin Shivers of the PA Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business: and Emerging Constituencies moderated by Evan Feinberg of Generation Opportunity.

The conference will also include four workshop sessions along with an exhibition area including representatives from over 40 conservative groups from across the state.

Arthur C. Brooks is president of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), a nonpartisan public policy think tank committed to expanding liberty, increasing individual opportunity, and strengthening free enterprise. He is also the Beth and Ravenel Curry Scholar in Free Enterprise at AEI.

Brooks is a frequent guest on national television and radio talk shows and has been published widely in publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
