The Ground Zero mosque must be a spoof -
The gallivanting Imam Rauf,
As we learn every day,
Seems to find a new way
To steal from taxpayers... and there's proof.
He owns an apartment that he claims
Is used strictly for religious aims.
Worship services hold
Five hundred, we're told.
That's one of his tax-avoidance games.
It's a one-bedroom apartment, folks,
For which non-tax status is a hoax.
He's laughing all the way
To the bank every day.
We don't need any more of his jokes.
FOXNews, 9/2/10: A tax exemption was granted to a Rauf entity that claimed it conducts religious services at a site for between "450 and 500." What is actually owned in that building is a one bedroom apartment.

One more Obamacare fallacy.

Well ... not drugs from the pharmacy.
From The Foundry, Heritage Foundation, 9/1/10: "Despite all the promises ... in addition to the upheaval caused by Obamacare, the Medicare bureaucracy is taking administrative steps to change the Medicare drug program that will have adverse impact on seniors' choices. Millions of seniors will have to switch their prescription drug plans due to the changes within Medicare."
Eddie Bernice Johnson says she'll repay
Scholarship funds she doled out, through foul play,
To relatives and friends.
If that's all, it offends -
Without punishment, it's not OK.
When you get caught with your hands in the till,
You need to do more than repay the bill.
But congressional theft -
On the right and the left -
Gets whitewashed for the folks on The Hill.
The Dallas Morning News, 8/31/10: "U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson awarded eight scholarships last year to her grandsons and a top aide's children - bringing to 23 the number of awards she handed out since 2005 in violation of Congressional Black Caucus eligibility rules ... 'I did not intentionally mean to violate any rules in the process,' Johnson said in a written statement ... to rectify this matter immediately, I will reimburse the funds by the end of this week.'"

Once again, this commonwealth has been held hostage at budget time. This comes as no surprise as this has been the standard operating procedure of the Rendell administration for the last seven years. ...
