Will they or won't they?
Will Democrat leaders in Congress actually stage a vote on nationalization of health care this week - as demanded by President Obama?
The answer depends upon who you talk to, and what time of day you talk to them. There appears to be about as much confusion about when the vote will take place as there is over what is actually in the bill.
One thing is for sure. If Nancy Pelosi actually had enough votes to pass the Senate version of health care "reform," she would immediately call the vote and ram it through. The fact the vote has not been called is a clear sign that the votes are not yet there.
President Obama is set for an overseas trip, which he has postponed until Saturday hoping to have a bill signing ceremony before he leaves. Might as well gas up Air Force One and hit the friendly skies, Mr. President, because it doesn't look like it is going to happen.
The real deadline is the upcoming Easter recess. The President and Mrs. Pelosi know that if wavering Democrats return to their districts they will get an earful from constituents strongly opposed to the health care "reform" bill. That could be the death knell for the legislation.
And so, they are desperately trying to get enough votes to pass the bill before the Easter break. But, deadlines have come and gone, come and gone, come and gone and still the health care reform bill is like a zombie in a horror movie - it won't stay dead.
It is clear though, that now is the time for all concerned Americans to register their opinions by calling their elected House member and urging him or her to vote against this monstrosity which will bankrupt America while destroying the best health care system in the world.
