OUR NEXT MEETING IS TUESDAY, JUNE 16TH
The actions of the Obama Administration are certainly helping to promote interest in our next meeting! His policies on almost every front are a disaster, but the most onerous one that affects us all is his "managing" of the economy and monetary system. People are very worried about their jobs, savings, home, family and retirement plans. We hope to answer the reasons behind these worries and at least explain why we are in this dilemma with our program planned for June 16th at 7:30PM. We will be showing the DVD entitled "Dollars and Sense" which will expose the workings of the Federal Reserve System and how it controls interest and credit rates. Terms like inflation will be explained along with how the Fed creates money out of thin air, then lends it to member banks, who in turn charge interest to borrowers. When you ask the average person, "What causes inflation?" they usually answer, "Rising prices." And then they will complain about the oil companies, utilities, supermarket, drug store and a host of other businesses that have recently raised their prices. However, the basic definition of inflation is "an increase in the money supply or amount of currency in circulation." Just check a 50 year old dictionary!
The American people must wake up to what is happening to their country and how the government is changing us into a Socialist nation to be merged with other countries into a New World Order. In last month’s issue of "The Watchman," I mentioned that Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) had introduced HR 1207 that would order an audit of the Federal Reserve. HR 1207 would require the Government Accounting Office (GAO) to perform a complete audit of the Fed by the end of 2010. It would also reveal the details of agreements the Fed has made with foreign central banks and governments. And one final exposure would be to show which banks and Wall Street firms have received money from the Fed. Last month there were 40 co-sponsors of HR 1207—I’m happy to announce that as of the first week in June, that number has risen to over 100! Make sure that you contact your Congressman to see if he or she has joined this effort to rein in the unchecked abuses of this private institution whose policies control America.
Since the membership of the Conservative Coalition has grown so tremendously in 2009 (thanks Obama!), many of our supporters and friends live out of the area and won’t be able to attend our meeting and see "Dollars and Sense." Details on how obtain a copy are at the end of this section. (You can join the WCCC for $12/year as an individual or $20 for a family. Send checks made out to WCCC to the address shown above).
I’d like to take this opportunity to quote some notable people who understood the power and misuse of a nation’s money supply by those forces that want to control our lives and warned us of these dangers years ago. Keep these quotes handy and share them with friends and representatives when the subject of the economy and banking come up in conversations.
Charles Lindbergh, Sr., father of the famous aviator, was a member of Congress who led the fight against the Federal Reserve Act in 1913. In December of that year, shortly before the Act passed, he said on the House floor, "This act establishes the most gigantic trust on earth. When the President signs the act, the invisible government by the money power, proven to exist by the money trust investigation, will be legalized. The money power overawes the legislative and executive forces of the nation. I have seen these forces exerted during the different stages of this bill. From now on, depressions will be scientifically created. The new law will create inflation whenever the trust wants inflation. If the trust can get a period of inflation, they figure they can unload stocks on the people at high prices during the excitement and then bring on a panic to buy them back at low prices. The people may not know it immediately, but the day of reckoning is only a few years removed."
Mr. Lindbergh’s comments were prophetic as 1929 brought forth the results of the Fed’s actions and control over the free market system. Remember it was in 1910 that representatives of the greatest banking houses in the world (Rockefeller, Morgan and Rothschilds) met secretly at Jekyll Island, GA to lay plans for the Federal Reserve or our own Central Bank. Also, remember that 1913 brought forth not only the Federal Reserve Act but also the 16th Amendment which gave us the infamous Income Tax! Karl Marx, in the Communist Manifesto, gave his 10 planks for establishing a Communist system and the destruction of Capitalism. One was creation of a Central Bank and the other was imposition of a graduated Income Tax. Thus four years before Lenin’s Communist government took control in Russia, America already had 20% of Marx’s ten planks in place! Read these additional words of wisdom from the past:
• Thomas Jefferson: "The system of banking is a blot left in all our Constitutions, which, if not covered, will end in their destruction. I sincerely believe that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, is but swindling futurity on a large scale."
• James Garfield: "Whoever controls the volume of money in any country is absolute master of all industry and commerce."
• Congressman Louis McFadden: "The Federal Reserve banks are one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever seen. There is not a man within the sound of my voice who does not know that this Nation is run by the International Bankers." (NOTE: Today no one in Congress seems to know what is happening!)
• Horace Greely: "While boasting of our noble deeds, we are careful to conceal the ugly fact that by an iniquitous money system we have nationalized a system of oppression which, though more refined, is not less cruel than the old system of chattel slavery."
• Major L. L. B. Angas: "The modern banking system manufactures money out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of slight of hand that was ever invented. Banks can in fact inflate, mint and unmint the modern ledger-entry currency."
• Woodrow Wilson (who signed the Federal Reserve Act and 16th Amendment into law): "A great industrial Nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the Nation and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have become one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated governments in the world—no longer a government of free opinions, no longer a government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men." Before he died, Wilson is reported to have said to friends that he had been "deceived" and that "I have betrayed my Country," referring to having signed the Federal Reserve Act!

Come and join us at 7:30PM at the Christian Fellowship Center located at the intersection of Ridge Road and Route 993 in Penn Township, east of the Bushy Run Battlefield. Call me for more directions and details at 724-863-2520 and bring a carload of friends! WE ARE MAKING COPIES OF "DOLLARS AND SENSE" AVAILABLE FOR $3.00 POST PAID. If you are interested in sharing this information with friends and family, please send a check made out to WCCC to the address on the front page of this newsletter.
A JULY FOURTH TEA PARTY!
Mark your calendars for a special Tea Party event from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Saturday, July 4th at the Bushy Run Battlefield. Join the hundreds of patriots who will assemble for great speeches, music and fellowship plus a challenge to use our God-given freedoms to stem the evil tide that is sweeping our land. There will be informational tables manned by various conservative organizations and a chance to meet like-minded folks who love America and want to get involved in the fight for God and Country. There will still be plenty of time for you to have your family picnics and cookouts and take in the annual fireworks displays. But I urge you to take several hours out if your schedule and do something a bit different this year. Bushy Run Battlefield is a special place in American history and a perfect site to meet and reflect what our forefathers fought and died for in lifting the siege of Fort Pitt and opening the West for expansion. Ironically, both Bushy Run Battlefield and Fort Pitt are on the endangered list of historic sites that Governor Spendell is threatening to cut off funds for if his 2009 budget isn’t approved. We’ll have more to say about "Fast Eddie" and the Pennsylvania budget later in this newsletter, but this Taxed Enough Already Party is the perfect way to stake out your opposition to any more government spending and waste of your tax dollars. There will be Media coverage and perhaps you will be chosen to air your conservative views on important topics. Spend a great day with family and friends to celebrate our Independence!
THE 2009 PENNSYLVANIA BUDGET
I keep saying that Westmoreland County has the hard core base of conservatives that can make a great difference in bringing about true reform and sensible legislation that will rein in government spending in Pennsylvania. On D-Day, June 6th, an article appeared in the Tribune-Review, authored by State Senator Kim Ward and State Representatives Tim Krieger and Mike Reese. All three of these legislators were just elected in November 2008 and their conservative credentials and views resonated with the voters and bucked the otherwise Democratic landslide that swept across Pennsylvania and the Northeast. Their joint comments were entitled, "STOP THE SPENDING," and should make us residents proud to have such representation in our midst!

"The Pennsylvania Senate has passed a balanced budget, and it is now in the hands of the House of Representatives. The Senate budget passed seven weeks before the constitutional deadline for doing so, thereby giving the public plenty of time to see what a no-tax-increase budget looks like. There are cuts in many programs and flat funding in others. No legislator likes cutting programs. But the bottom line is that Pennsylvania’s fiscal house is burning down and tough decisions need to be made. The state’s current budget to fund the government’s programs and services is $28.3 billion, but the state’s revenues amount to $25.5 billion. The projected deficit is more than $3 billion. In Governor Ed Rendell’s address to the joint sessions of the House and Senate last February, he predicted that in the next fiscal year, Pennsylvania will actually see a negative growth in revenue. Yet his budget calls for an increase in spending.
The Legislature could pass the governor’s budget, but that would require large tax increases. And that would be irresponsible—especially in this bleak economic period. Recently, Westmoreland County commissioners spoke out about SB 850 and the financial destruction it will cause the county. What the commissioners need to understand is that it is time for all levels of government to reduce spending , including the county. Rather than criticizing the Legislature’s efforts to enact a responsible budget that does not increase the financial burdens on our people, the commissioners should instead concentrate on finding areas to make cuts in their own budget. School boards and local governments, along with the legislature, will have to make difficult decisions and tighten their belts this year. We, as legislators, will try to help them by reducing unnecessary, unfunded mandates that create a burden for local governments. The budget is a work in progress, and the final product won’t look like SB 850 by the time the negotiations between the House, Senate and Governor’s Office are complete. Unlike the administration in Washington, D.C., the state Legislature won’t be printing money. But we will do the best we are able for the people we represent without raising taxes."

By law, Pennsylvania must have a budget in place by June 30th. The Governor wants increased spending and a budget of $29 billion. The GOP is proposing $27.3 billion, a difference of $1.7 billion. Final numbers are based on June’s revenue intake, but indications are it won’t be anywhere near enough to satisfy the Governor. The usual Democratic response is to "raise taxes as a last resort" while the Republicans are trying to cut the spending. The Governor is toying with an increase in the personal income tax of .7% which would raise one billion dollars. Trying to get more blood out of the turnip isn’t the answer by any stretch of the imagination. Since we are all supposedly in this together, then EVERYONE should tighten their belts. Let’s try something novel—how about a 5-10% CUT in spending across the board? Every agency, bureau and entity gets cut regardless of how much they believe Pennsylvania can’t get along without them. With nearly 80% of the budget taken up by Education, Welfare and the Prison System, one would think there is lots of room to cut in those areas alone. The Legislature can do their part by reducing business and corporate taxes to give companies a chance to grow and hire more workers. The State should also sell off some of the millions of acres they own to private citizens or businesses, thus accruing new revenues and future real estate taxes. These are some common sense approaches to solving the budget crisis that would avoid placing more tax burdens on the people. Make your feelings known to your State Representatives now and when you see them during their summer recess. If you are fortunate enough to have Kim Ward, Tim Krieger or Mike Reese as your voice in Harrisburg, please give them a call of appreciation for what they are trying to accomplish.

OBAMA’S DISASTEROUS FOREIGN POLICY
In the last month, President Obama has been travelling the globe visiting friends and foes alike. For the most part, he has chastised our friends and embraced our enemies, all the while apologizing for America’s past sins and policies. Israel is the biggest loser in this international arena while Cuba, Iran and Hamas seem to be the beneficiaries. Perhaps the most absurd statement that emanated from Obama’s tour was that of Fidel Castro. He took former VP Dick Cheney to task for allowing "waterboarding" to be applied to detainees at Gitmo. He then said that no one has ever been tortured in Cuba!! During his 50 years of Communist rule, tens of thousands perished after being tortured in ways far more brutal than what the al-Quida terrorists suffered.
Regarding Israel, there seems to be a showdown brewing between Obama and Benjamin Netanyahu. I’m sure that Obama’s remarks about Iran’s nuclear program didn’t soothe the Israeli nerves, and Obama’s call for stopping the expansion of Jewish settlements in the West Bank was really a case of Barack poking his thumb in "Bibi’s" eye. Having hooded Hezbelloh terrorists sitting around their TV’s applauding Obama’s speech to the Muslim world in Cairo was also an indicator that peace between Israel and Hamas and the Palestinian Authority is a pipe dream. Pray for Netanyahu and his team not to buckle under pressure from Obama.
Add an unstable North Korea and Hugo Chavez to the mix plus the Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan, and one can see there are some dangerous international situations looming in our future. I believe all these "crisises" are part of a plan to bring about the "World Order" that Obama mentioned while in Egypt. That is why I usually place a "Say No to The New World Order" envelope sticker when mailing out copies of "The Watchman."
OBAMA’S DISASTEROUS DOMESTIC POLICIES
After $50 billion having been spent to "save" GM and Chrysler, GM filed for bankruptcy and Chrysler is merging with Fiat. Calls six months ago to allow them to go bankrupt would have gotten the same result and saved the taxpayers $50 billion dollars. But the unions would not have been able to get such a sweetheart deal and part ownership of GM, and of course Obama had to make sure they got paid off for their support last November. Think about this–with Obama racking up $2-4 billion a day in deficits, Americans taxpayers are experiencing a GM/Chrysler bailout each month! His calls for National Health Care proposals by the end of summer and his push for Cap and Trade legislation that will further cripple our industry and economy show that the Obama Administration is on a course to ruin America and merge us into a Socialized world. Be very wary about the current rebound in the Stock Market, as a similar rebound occurred in 1930 just before the Market took a nosedive that lasted almost 10 years. Phony government statistics are sending false signals that the "recovery" is underway and the worst is over. With unemployment over 10%and thousands more losing their jobs everyday, there is no rational reason for the Market to be going up other than to lure more investors in so they can lose their money in a massive sell off. The speculators are driving up the price of oil, hence higher gasoline prices, even though there is evidence that crude oil reserves are near record high levels. Of course, Obama has sold out to the environmentalists and it will take a complete change in Congress to begin drilling and exploring for our own vast natural resources. May God have mercy on America and give us the resolve to change Congress in 2010!
ABORTION AND PRO-LIFE UPDATE
While thousands of unborn babies are being killed each month in America, several stories have made recent headlines. The biggest was the shooting of the largest late term abortion provider, Dr. George Tiller, at his church in Wichita, KS. Moral outrage was the cry from most quarters as this "warm and compassionate" man was eulogized as one who helped women in need. He also helped thousands of late term babies never see life as he murdered them with no thought of their future. I don’t want to sound too cruel, but of the roughly 25,000 people who died that day, I would say that Dr. Tiller had the most innocent blood on his hands and that the world is better off without him. As most of you know, I’m a firm believer in the Death Penalty and I would urge his killer be put to death, but that won’t happen as the Kansas legislature has outlawed the Death Penalty.
On the Red China front, it is now being reported that girls are being kidnapped in record numbers. It seems that their one child policy has killed off so many girls that young women are now in demand once again! They finally figured out that society can’t continue without a healthy balance of girls and boys, but they probably won’t change their abortion policies. And to think that America is subject to having China holding the bulk of our vast debt!!
