Congressman Dan Meuser, State Senator Scott Martin to Address 2023 PLC

(Harrisburg, PA) – U.S. Representative Dan Meuser (PA-9), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access of the Small Business Committee; and State Senator Scott Martin, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee will each speak at the 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference to be held March 30 – April 1, 2023 at the Penn Harris Hotel by Wyndham in Camp Hill Pennsylvania.

Special Guest Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be the conference luncheon Keynote Speaker on Saturday, April 1st; Fox News contributor Kellyanne Conway will be Featured Speaker at the conference dinner on Friday, March 31st. Congressman Dan Meuser and State Senator Scott Martin will join Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation; Venezuelan freedom activist Daniel DiMartino; Rev. C.L. Bryant of FreedomWorks; Scott Parkinson from the Club for Growth; Victoria Coats of the Heritage Foundation and Charles Mitchell from the Commonwealth Foundation in speaking at the conference along with Congressman Scott Perry; breakfast speaker John Gizzi of Newsmax; Dr. Paul Kengor from Grove City College; Newsmax columnist Jeff Lord; and Colin Hanna from Let Freedom Ring, USA.

The 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will include a full day of workshops on Thursday, March 30th including a Local Leaders Workshop; School Board Campaign Activism Workshop; How the Left Does It: Ballot Out/Ballot In Workshop; and Reclaim Pennsylvania Elections Workshop. Friday morning, March 30th workshops include Worldview and the Backfire Effect, Why the ‘Ostrich’ Strategy on Abortion Doesn’t Work, Parental Empowerment and Gearing up for 2023 School Board Elections.

 The 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will include four policy panel presentations including: Empowering Parents & Students moderated by Michael Geer of the Pennsylvania Family Institute; Building A Hispanic Coalition moderated by Jaime Florez of the Republican National Committee; Playbook for Protecting Pennsylvania & Preserving Public Safety moderated by Ashley Klingensmith from Americans for Prosperity-PA; and Winning & Serving as a Liberty Conservative moderated by Justin Greiss from the Citizens Alliance of America.

Dan Meuser, U.S. Representative is a conservative business leader who brings his experience to Congress.

The son of a police officer and a wonderful mom who balanced family and work, Dan grew up in a middle-class family and attended the New York Maritime University as well as Cornell University on a Navy ROTC scholarship.

Dan joined Pride Mobility Products in 1988, a small healthcare products manufacturer that he helped grow into the worldwide industry leader in power mobility products. Dan served as President of Pride USA for seven years. In 2011, Governor Tom Corbett nominated Dan to serve as Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Revenue. There, he worked to transform the Department of Revenue from a traditional tax collection agency into a taxpayer advocacy organization.

In 2019, Dan Meuser was sworn in as a member of the 116th Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 9th Congressional District. Congressman Meuser currently serves on the House Small Business and House Financial Services Committee. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax. Congressman Meuser is also a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus.

 Scott Martin, State Senator was elected to his first term representing the 13th Senatorial District in November 2016 and re-elected in 2020. While in the Senate, dozens of Scott’s bills have become law as well as a Constitutional Amendment which was approved by Pennsylvania voters in May 2021 that limited the power of a governor to issue open-ended emergency declarations that last longer than necessary.

Scott currently serves as Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which plays a crucial role in negotiating and developing the state budget and is responsible for reviewing all legislation for its fiscal impact. He previously served as Chair of the Senate Education Committee and Senate Local Government Committee.

Prior to his election to the state Senate, Scott served as a Lancaster County Commissioner. As Commissioner, Scott never voted for a tax increase, downsized government by cutting duplicative agencies and departments, reduced debt by $40 million, and lowered costs for taxpayers through privatization and public employee benefit reform.

Scott is a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School where he was a PIAA & National Heavyweight wrestling champion, and Millersville University, where he graduated with a degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice and became a three-time 1st Team PSAC Defensive Tackle and two-time All-American. After his college career, Scott was a free agent camp invitee of the New York Giants in the NFL and had three different stints in the Arena Football league.
