All Democrats Must Do is Not Be Crazy

What do “Impeach Trump,” gun control, open borders, sanctuary cities/states, gender-neutral public facilities, socialized medicine, global warming hysteria and abortion on demand have in common?

Yes, they’re national Democrats’ ritual orthodoxies, but, more importantly, along with a robust economy and tax reform, those political pathologies could save the Republican Party from itself in the midterm elections and, in 2020, reelect President Donald Trump.

Daily, Democrats’ Trump Derangement Syndrome and liberal media’s impulsive anti-Trump psychoses confirm that they’re doing a lousy job at the only thing Democrats must do to make midterm election gains – not be crazy.

Blogger Ed Driscoll occasionally advises Democrats to “not be crazy,” followed by behavioral examples that once only made sense to theparty’s politically-unbalanced far-left fringe.

Concerned Virginia Democratic Congressman Gerry Connolly cautioned, “If we are seen as enforcers of rigid orthodoxy, then our party will be a lot less attractive [to voters].” Connolly’s right to worry that Democrats cannot adequately camouflage their “rigid orthodoxy.” The party’s self-destructive behavior is increasing.

In 2017, Democrats opposed bills to crack down on illegal immigrant felons and prevent sanctuary cities from obstructing federal immigration enforcement. A majority of Americans favor such enforcement and oppose sanctuary cities.

Despite retiring Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards’ claim that abortion “rights” advocates are “transforming the culture,” polls show that more than three quarters of Americans, including many Democrats, would limit abortion to — at most — the first three months of pregnancy. Their party’s abortion-on-demand litmus test reflects poorly on Democratic candidates in a nation where a 56 percent majority believes any abortion to be morally wrong.

Democrats’ true definition of ”common sense gun control” was unmasked when, in the New York Times, notoriously-liberal retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens called for repealing the Second Amendment. Stevens and the Times effectively revealed the Democratic Party’s immoderation on firearms. The left’s frenzied, child-exploiting, anti-gun rallies will tarnish even allegedly-pro-gun Democrats.

Tax reform spotlighted Democrats’ pathological indifference to hardworking Americans, a majority of whom support tax cuts. Every congressional Democrat voted against the 2017 tax overhaul. Some mocked the bill’s benefits. Following passage, 4.2 million American workers employed by more than four hundred companies received bonuses, pay raises, and/or added benefits. About 90 percent of Americans will receive more take-home pay. Nonetheless, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, among the wealthiest members of Congress, called workers’ bonuses mere “crumbs,” and promised to repeal the cuts if Democrats regain congressional majorities.

In mid-March, Hillary Clinton passive-aggressively revisited her 2016 loss by doubling down on her sneering “deplorables” campaign epithet, declaring she won the “optimistic” and “dynamic” areas of the country, which are “moving forward,” while President Trump won the “backwards” states, full of people who “didn’t like black people getting rights” or “women … getting jobs.” Self-absorbed Hillary and her fellow obsessive-compulsives don’t care that their party will have difficulty recovering the lost voters they habitually insult.

Democrats will lose if Americans equate their behavior and policy goals with political psychoses – and vote accordingly.
