On Sunday, Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis made his smartest move in a month by dropping out of the Republican primary and endorsing Donald Trump. In doing so, DeSantis saves himself from a humiliating result in New Hampshire. He can leave somewhat on his own terms, salvage some dignity, and set himself up for the 2028 presidential race.
