‘Domestic Enemies’ Infuriate Joe Biden

According to President(ish) Joe Biden, millions of Americans are “domestic enemies.”

That includes anyone who opposes congressional Democrats’ unscrupulous, anti-constitutional scheme to federalize elections, ban voter ID, legalize ballot harvesting, and ensure that their party always wins elections.

On January 11, Biden traveled to Georgia’s historically-black Morehouse College to deliver a venomous, bitterly-divisive – demagogic – speech demanding that the U.S. Senate scrap the filibuster (a rule Senate Democrats defended in 2017 and frequently employ) to enable passage of dishonestly-labeled “voting rights” measures that would nationalize corrupt election regulations and ban states from enacting their own election integrity standards.

Biden blustered: “The next few days…will mark a turning point in this nation’s history. Will we choose democracy over autocracy, light over shadows, justice over injustice?”

In his harangue, Biden proclaimed that anyone who supports sensible voter ID and early voting laws, strict guidelines for requesting/counting mail-in ballots, or bans on ballot harvesting is no better than a slave-owner or segregationist.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell summed up Biden’s unhinged rant: “He shouted that if you disagree with him, you’re George Wallace…if you don’t pass the laws he wants, you’re Bull Connor, and if you oppose giving Democrats…one-party control of the country…you’re Jefferson Davis.”

Indeed, Biden did make all those preposterous allegations, while conveniently overlooking that segregationists Wallace and Connor, and secessionist President Davis were all…wait for it…Democrats!

To be fair, though, Old Joe is no longer in full control of the only-modest intellectual assets he was born with, and his relationship with “facts” has never been intimate.

Context is important:

Last year, Georgia’s governor signed an election reform bill making voting more convenient, but cheating more difficult. Reforms require voter identification, including for absentees, and outlaw general mailings of unsolicited absentee ballots.

But, Georgia also added early voting days on two Saturdays and two (county-optional) Sundays. The law added secure ballot drop boxes, and empowered Georgia’s State Election Board to assume control of any county board whose conduct raises legitimate concerns.

Nevertheless, despite the extra voting days and drop boxes, Biden insisted that Georgia’s “un-American” election reforms will restrict voter access.

Anyone who’s actually read the text of Georgia’s “Election Integrity Act of 2021” knows that every word Biden uttered is false.

The law is popular among fair-minded Georgians of all races and ethnicities, because it doesn’t prevent legally-qualified voters from casting ballots.

But, since there is no contemptible depth to which Democrats will not sink in exploiting race for partisan political purposes, Biden smeared Georgia’s law as “racist,” worse than “Jim Crow” – both characteristically stupid, historically inaccurate, monumentally dishonest allegations.

Biden expects to be taken seriously, though, because Americans are no longer taught that post-Civil War Jim Crow laws were first enacted, then enforced and perpetuated by Democrats who identified themselves as the “white man’s party,” while demonizing Republicans for being “Negro dominated.” Biden apparently forgot that, less than twenty years ago, a bipartisan election commission chaired by former-President Jimmy Carter, a Democrat, specifically recommended voter ID.

Biden’s diatribe failed to offer a single example of eligible voters who were unable to vote. Nor did Biden mention that, last March, his administration considered mandating COVID vaccine passports, or that Washington, DC currently requires proof of vaccination – “medical ID” – simply to participate in public life, a mandate that disproportionately affects minorities.

Ironically, Biden also overlooked that election laws in certain blue states, including his home state of Delaware, are as or more restrictive than Georgia’s. For example, New York also requires absentee voters to request absentee ballots. Quelle horreur!

Of course, Biden didn’t call New York’s or Delaware’s election rules “racist,” because Democrats already win in those states.

In fact, Biden’s/congressional Democrats’ election “reform” ambitions are 180 degrees out of phase with the rules supported by significant majorities of Americans.

Polling reveals that ninety percent of likely U.S. voters think preventing cheating is important. Seventy-four percent, including most black voters, support voter photo ID.

Can they all possibly be “domestic enemies?”

Joe Biden’s handlers must know that “ninety percent of likely U.S. voters” – even seventy-four percent – count many voting Democrats among them, including minorities.

Mr. Biden, about all those anti-cheating, voter ID-supporting registered Democrats, including the minorities…are they slave-owners, segregationists…or just racists?
