Gavin Newsome Sets Sights on New World Record

It may seem unlikely, but the smart money won’t bet against California’s oleaginous Governor Gavin “A-little-dab’ll-do-ya” Newsom breaking Al Gore’s and John Kerry’s jointly-held Modern Day Land Slither Record.

Formerly President(ish) Joe Biden’s “climate czar,” Kerry left the administration to join Biden’s campaign. Apparently, Slow Joe’s reelection is essential for “climate progress,” and Long John thinks he’s just the guy to accomplish both.

Kerry recently joined other eco-obsessed “elites” at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, most – all? – of whom arrived on private jets to scold the world’s proletarians about the Climate Apocalypse© du jour (a/k/a, “weather”), etc…

To reporters’ questions, including, “What’s the carbon footprint of these events every…year…you come here?” and why his personal carbon footprint is unimportant, Kerry snapped, “Don’t make up stupid questions!” then exclaimed, “I have done a huge amount!”

Indeed, Kerry has, provided one counts every time he’s pegged the National Pomposity Meter.

Kerry isn’t alone, though.

California coastal homeowner and former Vice President Al Gore, who enriched himself pimping climate alarmism, has declared, “Earth faces ‘rain bombs’ and ‘boiling oceans,’” and “We can’t sell our cars in China today because we don’t meet the Chinese environmental standards.”

Communist China has environmental standards? Who knew…?

Consider those Gore highlights along with this Kerry gem, “We’ve got to cut down on farming due to climate change or people are going to starve,” then ask yourself, how stupid must these halfwits think we are?

True, neither Gore nor Kerry were ever the brightest bulbs in the chandelier – Kerry married wealth twice, and Gore, son of a U.S. senator, is a “legacy” – but they really do think we’re stupid enough to buy their bovine excrement.

But, then, just when Kerry and Gore threatened to put the Land Slither Record out of reach, along came former San Francisco mayor, now Governor Newsom, who, as Kerry and Gore did, imagines himself qualified for higher office, capable of “Californicating” the rest of America.

There’s no shortage of Newsom “brainy quotes,” either:

“As mayor…, I will provide the vision…to make San Francisco a beautiful, well-planned city with excellent housing and transportation options.” (No mention, though, of SF’s increasingly-ugly crime rate or the record numbers of drug addicted and/or mentally ill homeless people who still litter the city’s sidewalks with needles, urine and poop.)

“We must continue to step in and stand up to resist reckless rhetoric and actions in a peaceful and forceful manner.” (Authoritarian emphasis on “forceful,” while reserving the right to decide what is “reckless.”)

“The economy is not immutable; it’s not about natural laws. It’s about rules, and we make the rules.” (“We” = “Gavin and fellow travelers,” forget the immutable Law of Supply and Demand.)

“I have differences of opinion within my own family… So, I do respect those that disagree.” (Gavin must respect his family – his wealthy father-in-law fled California for tax-and-business-friendly Florida – everyone else, not so much…)

Newsom, whose failures have inspired a second recall effort, has overseen California’s first ever population loss driven by high taxes, water rationing, a growing homeless population, a reparations program for never-enslaved minorities, record gas prices, porn in K-12 curricula, mandatory COVID vaccine bills, including for children, Single Payer health coverage, public school teachers strikes, an energy shortage, rolling blackouts and soaring violent and retail crime.

Nevertheless, Newsom facilitated an early release program from California prisons that freed thousands of violent felons and sex offenders.

California is so well-governed that Newsom turned the state’s record $97 billion surplus into a $73 billion deficit in two years, and California had to spend $100 million to “rescue” its legal marijuana industry. (Really? Who goes broke selling weed?)

The California Globe cited “Gov. Newsom’s shakedown of the oil and gas industry…blaming ‘Big Oil’ for California’s highest-in-the-nation gas prices, while ignoring “the package of ‘sweeping legislation’ [Newsom] signed … to achieve statewide carbon neutrality as soon as possible, and no later than 2045, by establishing an 85% emissions reduction target, capping oil wells, slowing oil and gas permitting, making it impossible to increase refining capacity, and entirely phasing out oil and gas starting in two years.”

Newsom: “This climate crisis is a fossil fuel crisis.”

Clearly, Gore and Kerry have formidable competition.

More Newsom: “As goes California, so goes the rest of the nation.”
