Hillary, We Hardly Knew Ye

Hillary Clinton’s record has been littered with scandals, missteps and failures since 1991. Blame Bill.

Bill Clinton announced his presidential aspirations in October, 1991. Hillary was part of the package. Bill told voters it was a two-for-one deal, so Hillary has been a presence in American politics ever since.

After the Clintons bought a property there, New York elected Hillary to the Senate in 2000. When Hillary failed to win the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, President Barack Obama appointed her Secretary of State.

Hillary had been in the public eye for twenty-five years when she was “re-introduced” at 2016’s Democratic National Convention. CNN framed it, pre-event: “Hillary Clinton prepares to reintroduce herself to America.” Amusingly, despite her decades-long, shop-worn familiarity, Democrats imagined that people didn’t know Hillary.

Now, everybody may have the chance to really know her. Years of Democratic indifference to Hillary’s character deficiencies have been disrupted by new allegations of a pattern of collusion with foreign interests that, with the complicity of Obama administration officials, engineered Russia’s control of one-fifth of America’s uranium.

The Hill reported: “”Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.”

Front Page magazine added: “Hillary Clinton approved the deal along with…the Committee on Foreign Investment …, leaders of fourteen U.S. government agencies involved in national security and commerce. The only…Obama administration leader reported to have gained financially in connection with…the Uranium One deal was Hillary Clinton. Her family foundation received one hundred forty-five million dollars…from investors who benefited from the transfer of Uranium One to Russian control. Bill Clinton received a huge $500,000 speaking fee from a Kremlin-tied Russian bank that promoted the Russian company Rosatom, which had the dual distinction of being the subject of the FBI criminal investigation and…the firm subsequently approved to assume control over Uranium One.”

The FBI’s criminal investigation was concealed from Congress; DOJ prosecution was delayed for years; and, until recently, an instrumental FBI case worker and willing informant was sworn to confidentiality.

A number of Obama administration officials, including the former president, may be at legal risk.

If proven, Uranium One far exceeds Watergate. Schemes to concede fissionable material or a Uranium-235 subset to a hostile nation are, if not Julius and Ethel Rosenberg-level treasonous, thoroughly corrupt. The Rosenbergs were committed communists. The Clintons are only greedy.

During a C-Span interview, Hillary characteristically addressed the Uranium One scandal like every other, claiming to be the victim of “the same baloney they’ve been peddling for years,” that her ties to the Uranium One deal have been “debunked repeatedly.”

For decades, we’ve endured Hillary’s repetitious sanctimony, the same denials, lies and accusations. This time, the stakes are enormous. Will Democrats finally grasp and banish the true Hillary?
