For Immediate Release: April 9, 2009
Harrisburg, PA – The Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania (LPPa) will participate in several of the Tea Parties scheduled across Pennsylvania during April (see http://www.pateaparties.com/ for schedule information).
Over 500 Tax Day Tea Parties are planned across the country including protests in every state. Multiple cities are expecting crowds of 5,000 to 10,000 people. In Pennsylvania alone, there are thirty-one rallies planned. The February Tea Parties took place in about forty cities across the country and approximately 30,000 Americans took part in the protests.
Per LPPa Media Relations Chair, Doug Leard, "the Libertarian Party has been at the fore-front of the effort to limit government taxation, spending and control. These protests demonstrate that more and more Americans are growing frustrated with the tax and spend policies of government bureaucrats, and are coming to share these goals."
Organized by the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition, the Tax Day Tea Parties will be a grass-roots protest focused on the theme of Repeal the Pork, Cut Taxes and Spending.
For more information on the nationwide tax party rallies, go to http://taxdayteaparty.com/.
The Libertarian Party is the third largest political party in Pennsylvania and the United States. More than 200,000 people across the country are registered Libertarians, and Libertarians serve in hundreds of elected offices. Please visit www.LP.org or www.LPPA.org for more information.
