Mark Janus, Champion of Worker Rights, to Speak at 2019 PLC
(Harrisburg, PA) – Mark Janus, the plaintiff in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court’s Janus v. AFSCME decision that affirmed the First Amendment right of public sector workers not to be forced to join a labor union as a condition of employment will address the 2019 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference. The 30th anniversary PLC will be held April 5-6, 2019 at the Radisson Penn Harris Convention Center in Camp Hill (Harrisburg), PA.
Best-selling author Kimberly Strassel of the Wall Street Journal will be the featured dinner speaker. Jimmy Kemp for the Jack Kemp Foundation will also address the conference. Additional speakers and panel topics will announced over the coming weeks.
Mr. Janus will discuss how he took on the powerful public sector unions and ultimately achieved a victory that restored constitutional rights to millions of Americans. His speech will be followed by a panel presentation on worker rights moderated by David Osborne of the Fairness Center entitled Whose Money Is It, Anyhow?
The Pennsylvania Leadership Conference is the premiere gathering of public policy conservatives each year in the Keystone State. It is the largest and longest-running of the state-based conservative conferences regularly attracting a long list of conservative elected officials, scholars, journalists and activists for two days of speeches, panel presentations, workshops and networking.
