PITTSBURGH – NewsRadio 1020 KDKA today announced a new weekday programming lineup, starting Monday, Jan. 5, 2009. The new schedule includes expanded afternoon news hours and the return of former KDKA host Mike Pintek.

Fred Honsberger – Pittsburgh’s talk show host of record – will move to noon-3 pm, followed by a three-hour block of news, weather, traffic, sports and business coverage 3-6 pm, from Paul Rasmussen, Rose Ryan-Douglas and the award-winning KDKA news team. Pintek will have the last word on the day’s news as he hosts 6-10 pm.

"We are very excited to announce Mike’s return," said Michael Young, CBS Radio senior vice president and Pittsburgh market manager. "Mike’s zest for news-driven talk radio, along with his natural affinity for southwestern Pennsylvania and specifically KDKA, makes his return to the radio station very special."

"The guy who said ‘you can’t go home again’ was wrong!" said Pintek, a 24-year KDKA veteran who was last heard on the station in December 2005. "I am absolutely ecstatic about coming home to KDKA."

Over the past few years, Pintek has been heard on stations locally and elsewhere including CBS Radio owned-and-operated KMOX-AM in St. Louis and the former WHFS-FM in Baltimore.
