March for Life Draws Generations of Support for Life
Harrisburg, PA – Hundreds of Pennsylvanians representing all generations of life will make the trek to Washington, D.C., on January 25 in a peaceful rally to support rights for preborn babies.
The national March for Life will be held near the 40th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, which opened the doors to allow abortion for any reason at any time during pregnancy.
"Every year at the march, we see more and more young people who believe that life should be protected from the moment of conception," said Micaiah Bilger, the Education Coordinator at the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation. "This young generation, my generation, believes abortion is the social injustice of our time. We have never known a society without legal abortion, but we do know that 55 million of our sisters and brothers, classmates and friends are missing because of abortion. We know that thousands of moms have been injured physically and emotionally by legal abortions."
National event organizers expect a record crowd at the march on January 25 in downtown Washington, D.C. Past attendance has been estimated at about 400,000 people.
Community pro-life groups across Pennsylvania also are holding local events to remember the 55 million lives lost to abortion.
"These widely-attended events are evidence of how strongly Americans believe that our preborn children deserve the same right to life that we enjoy," Bilger said.
