Planned Parenthood: Termination, Medication and Mutilation
Planned Parenthood (PP) is a most peculiar American “institution.”
PP has been caught offering sex-selective abortions, misinforming women about the facts of pregnancy, imposing abortion quotas on its clinics, selling baby parts, lying about abortion-related fatalities and about offering mammograms.
PP has covered up child sex trafficking, failed to report child rape and opposed protections for babies born alive following botched abortions.
In 2013, Florida legislators considering a bill requiring abortionists to provide medical care to infants surviving abortions were shocked when, during a committee hearing, a PP official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.
Nevertheless, forty percent or more of Planned Parenthood’s “revenues” comes from American taxpayers.
Out of PP’s 2014-15 $1.29 billion in total revenue, $553.7 million were federal funds. PP’s total 2016-17 revenues increased from $1.46 billion to $1.71 billion in 2020-21. Government funding for Planned Parenthood increased from $543.7 million in 2016-17 to $633.4 million in 2021.
According to their annual report, in 2015, PP’s clinics and affiliates performed 323,999 abortions. Over the previous decade, PP performed more than 3 million abortions, a number exceeding the populations of seventeen American states.
In 2019-20, Planned Parenthood performed 383,460 abortions, more than Pittsburgh’s population.
“Women’s health,” a popular euphemism for “abortion,” is designed to make murder somehow respectable. Accordingly, PP insists that the millions of dollars it receives from taxpayers isn’t used for abortions, but only covers “health services.”
That claim is patently false, because money is fungible. “Fungibility” is a characteristic of commodities whose forms are interchangeable. The public money PP receives, ostensibly for non-abortion services, frees other cash assets for abortion activities, PP’s central purpose.
Planned Parenthood’s public image is dependent upon obscuring that central purpose. A National Right to Life Committee poll revealed that fifty-five percent of Americans don’t even know Planned Parenthood performs abortions, even though PP clearly considers “reproductive choice” central to its mission.
Together, “reproductive” and “choice” are weasel words meaning “killing developing, often fully-developed, pain-capable children.”
Today, following the Supreme Court’s 2022 “Dobbs” decision overturning “Roe v. Wade” (1973) and returning abortion policy to the states where it constitutionally belongs, PP’s abortion revenues have declined in certain states where reasonable restrictions were placed on the practice.
In response, Planned Parenthood is diversifying, finding new ways to destroy lives. To “killing the unborn,” PP has added “medicating and mutilating the survivors” to its ghoulish repertoire.
To be fair, PP began dabbling in transgender hormone “treatments” in 2005, but, in recent years, Planned Parenthood has found the money irresistible, and gone all in with the transgender industry. Today, 41 of PP’s 49 regional branches offer transgender “services.”
The Daily Caller, an online news service, reports: “Between 2020 and 2022, the number of transgender services performed and/or visits related to transgender treatments at Planned Parenthood clinics increased by roughly 125%. Regional branches that made their data available collectively saw 17,036 visits in 2020 compared to 38,337 in 2022, a staggering increase in such a short period of time. […]
“The regional offices varied in how they tracked gender services, with some tracking gender hormone therapy appointments and others tracking visits to their “gender-affirming care” programs; however, many of the regional Planned Parenthood organizations who published their data saw a substantial increase in visits and/or services performed for transgender individuals. Many clinics currently offer ‘Transgender Hormone Therapy’ including estrogen, testosterone and puberty blockers.”
“Gender affirming care,” especially for children, may be today’s most reprehensible, most despicable euphemism.
“Gender-affirming care” includes both chemical interventions/puberty blockers and radical surgeries to remove healthy birth gender body parts, including those of immature, impressionable, easily-influenced kids who are too young to drive, drink, marry, serve or vote. Advocates make the loathsome claim that “gender-affirming care improves the mental health and overall well-being of gender diverse children and adolescents” even though transgender people attempt suicide nearly eight times more frequently than the rest of the population, and experience 3.5 times the rate of suicide deaths,
As it always has, PP is following the money. Transition surgeries have huge profit margins, and hormone treatments must be taken continuously for the remainder of every patient’s life, creating repeat customers for soulless opportunists like Planned Parenthood.
Like its commitment to abortion, Planned Parenthood’s wider adoption of “gender affirming care” isn’t about health, it’s merely another way to profit from destroying human lives.
