Harrisburg (PA) – MSNBC anchorman Joe Scarborough, U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, GOP gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann, John Fund of the Wall Street Journal, and Club for Growth President Pat Toomey will be the featured speakers at the 2006 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference to be held March 31st and April 1st at the Sheraton Four Points near Harrisburg.

The Pennsylvania Leadership Conference is the commonwealth’s premiere gathering for conservative public policy activists and elected officials.  The conference was established in 1989 as an annual event.  After a brief hiatus between 2002 and 2004, the conference returned last year with a record number of participants sparking renewed energy and enthusiasm in the state’s conservative movement.

“This year’s conference offers an extensive roster of big names speakers, along with panel presentations on critical policy issues facing Pennsylvania and “how to” sessions for activists,” said Frederick W. Anton, III, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Leadership Council which sponsors the event.

The conference will begin on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with a “kick-off” speech by Lynn Swann.  A panel presentation on “Reforming the Keystone State” will be held prior to the Liberty Dinner which will feature remarks by Joe Scarborough and Senator Santorum.

John Fund, author and editorial writer for the Wall Street Journal, will get Saturday’s session underway during comments at the Freedom Breakfast.  Following Mr. Fund will be three issue panels: Empowering the Private Sector, Empowering Pennsylvania Families, and Communicating Our Message.

Former congressman Pat Toomey, now President of the national Club for Growth will deliver the conference keynote address at the Keystone Luncheon. Following the lunch, the conference will conclude with “how to” sessions on campaign and issue activism.
