SMITH OUTRAISES CASEY – MORE CASH ON HAND

(PITTSBURGH) – The Tom Smith for Senate Campaign today released the following statement in reaction to third quarter FEC filings showing Smith has outraised Senator Bob Casey and accumulated a substantial cash on hand advantage:

"This latest news spells more trouble for Senator Casey who continues to lose support to Tom Smith," said campaign manager Jim Conroy. "That an incumbent career politician who has taken in millions from special interest PACs was outraised, is even further evidence that Casey’s message is falling on deaf ears, record is severely lacking and support is crumbling."

"Voters are clearly viewing Casey’s false and misleading attacks as not credible, and are turning to Tom Smith, a self-made proven job creator with a common sense plan to grow the economy and create jobs," Conroy added.

In the third quarter, Tom Smith raised $1.643 million and reported more than $7 million cash on hand compared with Casey’s $1.517 raised and $5.21 cash on hand.

Smith loaned his campaign an additional $10 million in the third quarter.
