Think COVID’s Deadly? Check This Out . . .

For some people infected by the virus, COVID-19 is deadly.

According to January 1, 2021, World Health Organization statistics, world-wide 2020 COVID-19 deaths totaled 1,808,041 people, 335,789 of them in the United States.

But, even doubled, global 2020 COVID-19 deaths must still be multiplied by nearly twelve times to even approach the number of world-wide deaths from abortion last year.

Shockingly, by December 31, 2020, 42.7 million infant abortions had been performed world-wide during a year in which COVID-19 panic shut down entire economies, including essential medical services such as life-saving screenings, treatments and surgeries, the unavailability of which killed many thousands of adults.

Rather than attending to the genuine medical needs of millions of Americans during the pandemic, policy makers ghoulishly considered taking lives through abortion an “essential” activity.

The Guttmacher Institute, a research group that supports abortion rights, counted 862,000 U.S. abortions in its last triennial report. In other words, during Guttmacher’s report period, abortion killed more than 2.5 times more American babies than COVID-19 killed primarily elderly and sick Americans last year.

United States government agencies track deaths from heart and respiratory diseases, cancers, accidents, strokes, Alzheimers and diabetes, among other morbidities, but abortion is the only cause of death that disproportionately affects black Americans. The abortion rate for black women is five times that of whites.

So, statistically, abortion in America includes an element of racial genocide.

Because people at the March for Life Education and Defense Fund believe the sheer numbers of black infant abortions overshadow other human rights issues, the organization calls abortion “the social justice cause of our time.

The March for Life’s case is supported by a report issued by the National Center for Biotechnology Information: “Black women have been experiencing induced abortions at a rate nearly 4 times that of White women for at least 3 decades, and likely much longer. The impact in years of potential life lost, given abortion’s high incidence and racially skewed distribution, indicates that it is the most demographically consequential occurrence for the minority population. The science community has refused to engage on the subject and the popular media has essentially ignored it. In the current unfolding environment, there may be no better metric for the value of Black lives.”

According to a Gallup survey on morally acceptable behavior, 50 percent of Americans consider abortion “morally wrong,” and an NPR/Marist poll found that only 18 percent of Americans support third-trimester, or late-term abortion.

But, contradicting Democrats’ once-common aphorism, “Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare,” last February, U.S. Senate Democrats successfully filibustered a bill to protect the lives of newborn infants that survive botched, including third-term abortions – the third time Senate Democrats blocked a bill to stop born-alive infanticide.

Joe Biden’s campaign website pledged to “Restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood,” America’s largest abortion mill. In 2017, Planned Parenthood received more than a half-billion fungible taxpayer dollars.

Many Planned Parenthood clinics are in or near minority neighborhoods. Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was an overt racist and eugenicist, so aborting black babies is in the organization’s DNA.

Candidate Biden also promised to “Restore the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate.” Under the 40-plus year old legislative Hyde Amendment, federal, including Medicaid funds cannot be used to pay for abortions except in cases of rape, incest or life endangerment.

But, in a party-line vote on Mr. Biden’s recent “COVID Relief Bill,” Senate Democrats authorized billions of taxpayer dollars to be used to fund abortions on demand. The Democrat House majority also voted “aye.”

In other words, Democrats’ position on abortion is now “legal, unlimited, on-demand – and taxpayer-funded.”

Considering the racial disparities of performed abortions, national Democrats should be stuck between a rock – Black Lives Matter (BLM) – and a hard place – Planned Parenthood. But, money talks, so their choice was easy.

During the 2020 election cycle, Planned Parenthood spent $3,192,946 on political activities, most benefitting abortion-friendly Democrats. BLM spent far less – as in none – even though the organization took in millions, its recipients uncertain.

The stated purpose of the 48th annual March for Life in Washington, was to end abortion by “uniting, educating, and mobilizing pro-life people in the public square.”

In view of national Democrats’ barbaric anti-life priorities, there’s a lot of “uniting” and “educating” remaining to be done.
