SEN. TOOMEY CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON
U.S. CONSULATE AND EMBASSY

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) issued the following statement today regarding the deaths of four Americans at the U.S. Consulate in Libya and the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Egypt:

"I strongly condemn these violent attacks on our diplomatic posts in both Benghazi and Cairo and am outraged by the deaths of four American public servants at our consulate in Libya, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

"As an envoy to the Libyan rebels in 2011, Ambassador Stevens represented the best of America as he worked to bring peace and freedom to the Libyan people. I join with all Americans in extending my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of Ambassador Stevens and the three other Americans killed in this deplorable act."
