(Harrisburg, PA) – Trent England, Executive Director of Save Our States will defend the Electoral College during a speech to the 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference to be held March 30 – April 1, 2023 at the Penn Harris Hotel by Wyndham in Camp Hill Pennsylvania. Frank Gamrat of the Allegheny Institute for Public Policy and Dustin Chambers from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University will hold a “conversation” on the impact of government regulations on business.

Special Guest Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will be the conference luncheon Keynote Speaker on Saturday, April 1st; Kellyanne Conway, former senior counselor to President Donald Trump will be Featured Speaker at the conference dinner on Friday, March 31st. Trent England will join Frank Gamrat from the Allegheny Institute; Dustin Chambers of the Mercatus Center at George Mason University; Congressman Dan Meuser; State Senator Scott Martin; Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation; Venezuelan freedom activist Daniel DiMartino; Rev. C.L. Friday morning, March 30th workshops include Worldview and the Backfire Effect, Why the ‘Ostrich’ Strategy on Abortion Doesn’t Work, Parental Empowerment and Gearing up for 2023 School Board Elections.

The 2023 Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will include four policy panel presentations including: Empowering Parents & Students moderated by Michael Geer of the Pennsylvania Family Institute; Building A Hispanic Coalition moderated by Jaime Florez of the Republican National Committee; Playbook for Protecting Pennsylvania & Preserving Public Safety moderated by Ashley Klingensmith from Americans for Prosperity-PA; and Winning & Serving as a Liberty Conservative moderated by Justin Greiss from the Citizens Alliance of America.

Trent England is the founder and executive director of Save Our States, which defends the Electoral College and opposes the National Popular Vote interstate compact. He is also co-director of and the David & Ann Brown Distinguished Fellow at the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs. Trent is the author of Why We Must Defend the Electoral College and a producer of Safeguard: An Electoral College Story, a full-length documentary film available at Amazon and Tubi. He previously served as the executive vice president at two state-based think tanks, a legal policy analyst at The Heritage Foundation, and an opposition researcher at a national campaign committee. Trent serves in leadership and the color guard in his local chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Frank Gamrat, Executive Director of the Allegheny Institute for Public policy received his Ph.D. in applied economics from Clemson University and a B.S. in economics from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  He has been the executive director of the Allegheny Institute since 2019.  Prior to that he was the senior research associate and director of administration.

Experience includes teaching at the university level and as an operations research analyst for the federal government in Washington DC.  His areas of expertise include economic development, merger analysis, transportation, the economics of Pennsylvania’s Marcellus Shale gas industry, analysis of Pennsylvania’s casino industry, and analyzing the area’s labor market.

He lives in South Park, Allegheny County with his wife Carol.  They have two adult children.  He is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, Laurel Highlands Council.

Dustin Chambers is a Professor of Economics in the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University and a Senior Affiliated Scholar with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Dr. Chambers is an applied econometrician who has published widely on the topics of income inequality, poverty, and economic growth. His most recent research focuses on the regressive effects of government regulations, including their unintended impact on consumer prices, entrepreneurship, and social mobility vis-a-vis income inequality and poverty. He earned his MA in economics from UCLA and his PhD in economics from the University of California at Riverside.
