The next 14 months to see massive investment in Mon Valley, launching new era for steel in PA.
President Donald J. Trump has delivered a massive win for Pennsylvania with his stewardship and approval of the new partnership between United States Steel Corporation and Nippon Steel.
“Donald Trump is the grandmaster of the deal, and today he delivered for American manufacturing,” said David N. Taylor, President & CEO of the Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association. “At every turn, President Trump took the deal that Joe Biden discarded and reshaped it into a huge victory for the Mon Valley, western PA, and the whole commonwealth. This new partnership means that Pennsylvania will be producing steel for generations to come with new and better facilities and world-class production methods and technologies, thanks to our partners and investors at Nippon Steel.”
“President Trump cares about the lives and jobs of working people in America, which is why he is a champion for domestic manufacturing and ‘Made in the USA.’ Trump did not forsake the steelworkers of the Mon Valley or the communities where they work, which would have been devastated if the deal had failed. This is a great day for Pittsburgh, which will remain the proud home of one of America’s most famous employers,” Taylor said.
“I am grateful to the executive teams at Nippon Steel and U.S. Steel for their patience and fortitude through a tumultuous process. I also want to thank U.S. Senator Dave McCormick, who has been a steady presence behind the scenes to keep the conversation going and prevent the deal from falling through. Dave McCormick demonstrates the difference that engaged leadership can provide for Pennsylvania.”
