U.S. House Democrats Oppose Election Integrity
One might think that requiring citizenship to vote would top the list of the issues upon which every member of a divided Congress could agree.
But, no…
Democrats’ unanimous support for “motor voter” laws and opposition to voter ID have always raised suspicions, but there is no longer any ambiguity about US House Democrats’ commitment to undermining election integrity.
First some background:
1) Federal laws prohibit illegal aliens from voting, but, currently, federal voting forms contain no requirement to provide proof of US citizenship.
2) Welfare offices and other agencies in at least 46 states provide voter registration forms to “migrants” without requiring proof of citizenship.
Democrats love loopholes…
On July 10, all but five House Democrats, none from Pennsylvania, voted against the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that would prevent illegal aliens from voting for president and members of Congress. SAVE would amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require documentary proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
Every Pennsylvania House Democrat voted “Nay” on SAVE. They are:
District 2 – Brendan Boyle
District 3 – Dwight Evans
District 4 – Madeleine Dean
District 5 – Mary Gay Scanlon
District 6 – Chrissy Houlahan
District 7 – Susan Wild
District 8 – Matt Cartright
District 12 – Summer Lee
District 17 – Chris Deluzio
The SAVE Act narrowly passed the House, and was sent to the Senate. If the bill fails there, in November, every Democrat who voted against it will be asking for the support of citizens whose ballots have the chance to be cancelled or, at least, diluted by illegal votes.
The same Democrats who have been frantically bloviating about nonexistent “MAGA threats to democracy” are literally undermining the foundation of America’s representative democracy.
Clearly, Democrats’ opposition to SAVE telegraphs their intention to cheat in 2024. But no Democrat whose votes have proven their utter disregard for election security have earned a single vote from any Republican, Democrat or Independent who values fair elections.
Unsurprisingly, Democrats offer the usual lame excuses for their “Nay” votes, all of them bogus. But, why not make them anyway? Voter gullibility is a good bet. After all, in 2020, enough people were convinced of President(ish) Joe Biden’s viability and moderation.
One “objection” to SAVE was that it would “prevent Americans from registering to vote with their driver’s license alone.”
That was precisely the point: if a license, alone, allows holders to register, then any licensed driver, legal or illegal, can vote.
And don’t fall for Democrats’ claim that the SAVE Act would make a passport the “only acceptable form of identification.” The bill outlines five acceptable forms of ID to prove citizenship.
The SAVE Act is probably DOA in the Senate (watch for Pennsylvania Senator Robert Casey’s “Nay” vote), and, if it passes, the White House will veto the measure.
In fact, the White House opposes the bill on the basis that “it is extraordinarily rare for noncitizens to break the law by voting in Federal elections.”
But, even if true, what’s the harm in passing a bill that merely adds a requirement to make existing laws foolproof, unless, of course, illegals voting is the goal?
Bingo!
When motives are in doubt, look for the financial or political interest. In this case, if you don’t trust the voters you have, import new ones – and the Biden administration has imported millions of potential illegal voters. The White House points out that noncitizen voting is already illegal – but, so, theoretically at least, is illegal entry. The Biden administration isn’t enforcing immigration laws, either.
In under four years, Biden has waved in more than ten million illegals, relocating many to Republican-controlled states. Our borders are open to any diseases illegals carry, to criminals, and, very likely, enemy and terrorist infiltrators. Law enforcement, hospitals, and schools are overwhelmed, and, in many areas, housing shortages are critical.
There has to be a payoff for Democrats to risk doing anything so potentially destructive to a nation whose president and elected officials pledge to “…preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
There is. Subordinating constitutional norms to power and control, Democrats clearly want – need – illegal aliens to vote in federal elections, beginning this year.
They still outnumber illegals – for now, at least – so outraged legal voters have their chance to punish Democrats in November.
