‘Schrodinger’s Congressmen’ and Other Abusrdities

“Schrödinger’s cat” is a 1935 thought experiment devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger to challenge a once-accepted premise of quantum theory.
Without getting too deep into the scientific weeds…
Under quantum physics’ “rules,” a particle or atom could not have a specific reality until it is measured.
Hypothesizing a cat in a metal container, Schrödinger exposed the rule’s paradoxical nature by pointing out that the cat – or an atomic particle – cannot be simultaneously alive and dead until the box is finally opened and its contents examined.
Schrödinger’s thought experiment has taken on something of a cult status, inspiring hundreds of memes and (mostly indecipherable) articles. Amazon sells Schrödinger’s Cat T-shirts.
Then, in 2018, a variant of Schrödinger’s thought experiment posited that all existing interpretations of quantum theory are incomplete.
Existing interpretations of quantum theory may be incomplete, but, when “Schrödinger’s cat” is applied to national politics and voting…
In the U.S. Congress, at least, certain members – “Schrödinger’s Congressmen” – can be simultaneously “alive” and “dead.”
Congressmen Byron Donalds (FL-19), Wesley Hunt (TX-38), John James (MI-10), and Burgess Owens (UT-4) are all black men, but, they cannot join the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), because all four represent predominantly white districts, and (quelle horreur!) are all Republicans.
In other words, the four are very much alive to their colorblind Republican constituents and caucus colleagues, but, based solely on the letter behind their names, are simultaneously “dead” to the self-described “inclusive” black Democrats who control the CBC – exclusively.
Additionally, Democrats characterize any attempt to ensure American election integrity as “voter suppression,” even though the “suppressive” measures they oppose include that only citizens may vote and need ID to prove eligibility – oh, yeah…and voters must be living.
However, although officially-deceased, thousands of “Schrödinger’s voters” remain “alive” to elected Democrats who refuse to clean up blue state voter rolls.
Moving on to other liberal absurdities…
When the Obama and Biden administrations weaponized since-discredited lawfare to damage Donald Trump politically and financially, Democrats insisted, “No one is above the law!” But, when the Trump administration began investigating Obama, Biden and their appointees for abuse of power, Democrats called the alleged perpetrators “victims” of “weaponized justice.”
Passive-aggressive narcissists…never the bad guy, always the victim…
Left-wing anti-Semites hold American Jews responsible for Israel’s military response to the Hamas terrorist group’s soulless massacre of 1200 Israeli citizens and kidnapping/abuse/murder of an additional 200+, but they will not hold Muslims living in America responsible for thousands of Christians that Muslims have massacred – unprovoked – in Nigeria.
Liberals who simultaneously protest a “gender pay gap,” while insisting there is no such thing as gender, also tell us to “follow the science” – except chromosomes. Apparently, liberals don’t believe in chromosomes.
After pinky-swearing that illegals weren’t receiving Medicaid, Democrats are outraged that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers are using Medicaid data to track down illegals.
Former Vice President Kamala Harris recently suggested that Democrats hold a “no bad ideas brainstorm” where they could gather ideas for winning back Congress in the midterms and the White House in 2028.
Then, the always-eloquent former veep prattled several bad ideas: “And in that ‘no bad ideas brainstorm,’ we talk about what we need to do and think about doing around [abolishing] the Electoral College.
“We talk about the idea of Supreme Court reform, which includes expanding the Supreme Court. Let’s talk about statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C. [giving Democrats four more senators and electoral votes]. These are the things I think that we’ve got to do.”
Today, Democrat policy is dictated by the party’s radical base, ten percent, perhaps, of Democrats. The party cannot compete for the centrist middle without alienating their radicals, so they rely on subterfuge to influence inattentive, low-information, and cognitively-impaired “moderates” to swallow the Party’s absurdities du jour – and cheating – to make up the difference.
Democrat doctrine: if winning by the rules is difficult, make new rules – or cheat. And, if voters are lost, open the border to admit new ones.
Harris inadvertently revealed her party’s desperation. Their wish list may contain absurd, provocative attempts to undermine the republic, but, to Democrats, they mean survival.
If they don’t regain large congressional majorities and the presidency in 2028, Democrats cannot pack the Supreme Court, reinstate racial gerrymandering, admit new states, or give illegal aliens blanket amnesty. Then, the party could go virtually extinct.
